Guys

On behalf of myself and my wife we would like to say a huge thank you to each and every one of you and your partners, for coming to our wedding on Monday.

I know that many of you travelled a great distance and as such incurred a great cost to be at the wedding and it means so much to us that so many came to help celebrate the start of our new life together. I couldn't think of a better group of friends to experience all of this with, so for this thank you.

We have now been able to get through the pile of cards, reading our lovely messages and of course finding our wedding gifts.

You have all been so generous to us and I am pleased to say that it's because of this generosity that we now have enough money to have a really good honeymoon. We no longer need to watch the wallet whilst we are out there and can really enjoy this special break.

Thank you so much for making this honeymoon a reality. You have all contributed to a what we now know will be a wonderful break away.

If you would be as kind as to extend our thanks and gratitude onto your other halves (where applicable) we would be very grateful.

Cheers lads

Sam

No worries Sam, it was great to see you both. Hope you have a fantastic time in Italy, I know we both love it there. Make sure you sample the Bifsteakas but don't ecpect them to cook it English style...and one is definately enough for two!

Sam,

I'm so pleased you and Mrs Harris had a great day! The photos looked superb and everything a wedding should be. Sorry we couldn't be there, I was really gutted on Monday knowing it was all going on and that I was stuck in the snow not being able to celebrate your big day with you.

Enjoy your honeymoon and relax after what I'm sure has been a manic few weeks!

Murph please expand on the detail of the big steaks?

Jon thank you buddy. You were missed tbh as it would have been good to share the day with you guys, but it's a long way for you to come for an evening lol. Looking via FB do we share the same wedding anniversary?

When we visited Tuscany we had dinner in a family run Trattoria.  On the menu was a 'Bifsteaka'. Mariea and my mate Gavin ordered one each.   The waiter wagged his finger and said in broken English, 'No, you only need one...'   Mystified they agreed.   What arrived was a full prime rib of beef the size of a dinner plate, bone in and the thickness of a hardback book.   The outside was crisp and char grilled, the inside was almost raw but so tasty and succulent it was like a truffle.   To this day we have never had a steak like it, me being the eejit had ordered Pizza!

To say that Italian food is the best in the world is an understatement, we never had a bad meal out.   If you have had enough to eat the thing to say is 'Basta' meaning 'full'.  At another restaurant a local chap the size of a jockey ordered a steak and chips, the steak was as I described above and the chips were hand cut french fries, the poor lad had a right sweat on trying to finish it all but every time he looked like he was flagging one of the waitresses would arrive at his table and pour more wine or water and encourage him to keep going, he managed it and all three waitresses came and patted him on the back.   He then ordered a Gellato and yes their ice cream is as good as the steak...sigh, you lucky man.

Looks like I won't be fitting into my wedding suit for quiet a while then lol!

Oh it sounds amazing, it's been a dream to try proper Italian food and I can't wait!

Thanks Sam, its been a full on year for me, as you know. But I am so glad that things turned out right and I was able to make your stag do, and both Jeanette and I the wedding. Both were absolute blasts, and its great to be part of a group of people, that make me belly laugh, through our shared experiences. Long may it continue.

Enjoy Italy. Like Murph we never had a dodgy meal when we went years back, and we didn't even know what we were ordering most of the time...
