WPG stocking fully functional REPRO Handie Talkies

OPTION 1 ($135): Functioning Radio. Has a built-in 14-channel Family Radio System (FRS) receiver/transmitter with a range about approximately 1 mile (1-2km). Radio controls are accessed by removing the top cover (screwdriver required), batteries (4 AA cells, not included) are accessed through the bottom door. The original rubber-covered Push-to-Talk switch activates the transmitter. Antenna covers unscrews and telescoping antenna extends just like originals.

Great stuff - would be very good during battles etc

Yeah, we spoke about getting some of these at Bunker Bash. He comes over to Stoneleigh in January, so we could save on postage there!

Agreed mate. I think they will be a good group purchase and should come in handy.

We do have enough in group funds to buy a set now..... But thats the contributions made by people for the pyramid tent. Trowbridge brings another £700 into the pot..

If the main players who put £60 into the tent-pot have a view on this, about purchase or not with funds we have at the moment???

I don't mind if it comes out of group funds, as Ben says if we order and collect at Stoneleigh?

Well I think Stoneleigh may be the best bet and see how much dosh we have in the kitty around that time.

I've emailed WPG- apparently the FRS in the USA, converts to a UK channel that can be used legally over here....PMR446?

Sorry, we are not familiar with UK laws. All I can say is that the output of these radios is so small that they are unlikely to cause any problems.

Paul, did he say how much postage would be? I know it says $30 on his site but wasn't sure if thats correct. I think it may also be worth checking with him to see if he will bring them to Stoneleigh, as I know he only brings limited stock with him. I'll email him and check.
