Operation Overlord - Skegness - 27th & 28th Sept '08 1st Infantry Div
Hi chaps,
Just wanted to post here and thank you guys for kindly attending this event and transporting all of the gear necessary for the static display I think for a first time show it was a nice event, and I hope those that had traveled considerable distances thought that it was worthwhile! I'm sorry Riz had to leave early on the Saturday, but hopefully next year will be a bigger and better still
Here's a few shots from my camera, I'll be adding more over the next few days, and will post a link to our online gallery once they've been added, but please do share any shots you managed to pick up too!
Thanks again fellars, and we're all very much looking forward to working with the friendly, professional outfit known as A.I.M. again! I can tell you all now that the provisional dates for next year's event are 26th & 27th September, 2009.
Take care,
Ben

Thanks Murph, it was great to get to know you all a little better too, and I must say that we think you're all a bunch of cracking lads. We look forward to working with you all again next season
Here's a few more pictures for you all, until I can put some more together:
Did you get many good ones Paul?
Thanks again to Paul, Rizla and Murph!
Regards,
Ben

Ben, really enjoyed this event. Hope you were not up too late taking down all those tents!! Tinternet has been down all day
so first time to post!!
Well, I can only re-iterate what Ben has said. AIM rebadged as 1st Infantry and joined with Ben and Chris Major, members of Lincolnshire Military Preservation Society and Ranger Re-enactment to put on a display and Public Battle. The Skegness event has great potential; a nice display area, with a really good site for a public show.
“Click” on any of the photos below to take you to the main album.
A Bit of artistic licence...
And finally, PFC PatricK “Murph” Murphy, AKA Ian Brophy recounts the story and gives an indication on how big that spider was that caused him to shout out at 0400 in the morning alerting his squad members to the perils of what lurked outside our tent.

I think that spider musta been at my jeep cap! I look like a right bumpkin...
Great Pics and I want to add to what paul has said, a great bunch of lads who made us feel really welcome. I think we have the makings of a good co-operative group here!
