M1907 Bayonets/scabbards
We have touched on these with the new 82'nd impression and I've being trying to do a spot of research on the bayonets and scabbards as issued for the M1 Garand. I've managed to work out some of the issues around them but would be interested to learn what people know about them. I know originals are on the rare and expensive side so it may have to be WPG or SOF since ATF don't ship knives overseas. There appears to be the odd one on EBAY as well but not sure how often they appear or not.

I can't remember who brought it up but we can use the short 10" ones as fillers for 16" scabbards and perhaps have one or two good repros (if we can't find affordable originals) to show the public when required. Maybe I can get one from ATF when I'm in the States and ship to the UK (customs ? VCR ?).
Same for the 48 star arm flag and other, what can be found among US brands ?

TBH Pat, that's my thoughts on getting the scabbard only, most of the time the bayonet stays in the sheath. May well have to tap you up on that idea about shipping stuff back from ATF!

Just wondering guys, but did you mean the M1905 bayonet?
Sounds interesting with your new 82nd Airborne Impression. I'm hoping to visit some of their old stomping grounds when I'm in Sicily this summer!

I think ive bored you all with this before, but the ones i saw (bearing in mind they were first runs) were not brilliant, they had to be filed to get them to fit the Garand, and the scabbard colour was a very vivid green, quality may have increased now but the initial ones were a bit nasty, sadly ive not seen one for a while. If you could see one before purchase just to check it.might be prudent.
