Off to Hollywood
One of the off-shoots of being involved in Living History is the occasional chance to be involved with the media. GI44-45 members have already had some moments of “fame” featuring on BBC Radio, Television, Newspaper and magazine articles. It was only natural that in due course we would be also involved in film work!
On Friday 16th September we had the chance to be get some movie making under our belts, having been asked to provide a Jeep for a forthcoming Superman Fan film. More about this will be in the group magazine, but it was an “interesting” experience, talking to the actors and persons involved, and seeing how long certain scenes take to shoot.
Thanks to Tom Sainter for his support with this event.

Always like to promote our group, (in a positive way), although I limit things, Pole dancing or bungie jumping you can forget.

Tom did, but I thought you wouldnt want to see that photo.
Chris, even we were not blessed with sight of Superman, guess we'll have to catch it when it hits the big screen. I asked if any of the crew knew Ari Taub our director/producer friend from the US, but nobody knew him........

Very nice pictures of 41st Armored Infantry with camoed HBTs (I'll get me coat). I'm sure it was a good experience for you guys !! I'm still wondering how the script-writter managed to put a WWII jeep in a Superman movie...

I have a feeling that its not been set in WW2, as the producer asked me how long after the war they would have used jeeps. I think they were just after a military vehicle.

Good Work Paul!!!!!
Nice to see their intergrity as quality film makers was en-forced by insisting you dress in period desert camo's to go with the Jeep! I reckon Ari was the military advisor for this one then!!!!
Alas, I think the phrase 'straight to DVD' springs to mind on this one.....

Hi guys,
Alas I believe this film will be "Only available online" as from what we were told it may not even make DVD but it was still a gd experience.
As already mentioned it was a very weird situation in regard to kit and the story line, I found myself just chuckling to myself most of the time
Oh and believe me I have no part in the film with or without my pants on the outside
Regards
Tom

Re: Off to Hollywood
Well, after just viewing the film in its entireity i have to say it's not the worst low budget pic i've ever seen, with leading lady 'Ali Noels' being quite a nice distraction!!!
Good on ya Paul & Tom for giving it a go, if you watch the titles at the end you'll see you've both been credited as being 'Picture Car Driver - Paul Costin' and 'Picture Car Assistant - Tom Sainter'!!!
So when are you going to apply for the equity card guys????
