Dunkirk : The Last Guard
Gents
As you may know over the weekend of 18th and 19th May I took part in some film work. This was done by members of MECO and directed by Sophie Penny which I'm sure some of you know from the re-enacting community.
The film centres around Harry Nicholls and the events in which he was awarded the Victoria Cross when the Grenadier Guards were acting as a rear guard during the evacuation of Dunkirk in May 1940.
Here are some links to provide a bit of background knowledge.

The film once complete will be sent to the guards museum in London where it is hoped will form part of the display for visitors.
In the meantime please can members visit and like this facebook page and if possible share it in order to gain more publicity. There is a link on the page for a 'preview' via youtube to give you a taster of what's to be expected.

I was going to ask Sophie if she would like to submit an article for this to add to the next group magazine. Would this be ok with you Paul?
Cheers

Great stuff Sam, already 'liked'!
Great idea for an article in Strictly GI i'd say... 'by the re-enactor for the re-enactor!'
Cheers,
Dan

A few pics for a taster!
Thanks for that Dan, noticed you on the page. Hope you liked the ppreview. It was good to see it come together like that as on the day you just go from scene to scene and it doesn't always make sense!
