Yep- where we dug in was meant to be our pitch. I could see it being a good spot for the public to walk on but it is directly adjacent to a grass (main) field where we were pitched so has plenty of potential.

I think if we do this event again, we should either go along as USAAF ground crew (HBT Coveralls, Daisy Mae caps and Mechanic Aprons) or we could maybe take the Mortar along and put on a display for the public (the last bit was a bit of a brain wave I just had). Just a thought - wouldn't require too much kit, and we could dig in the stubble field and it'd be a correct impression! Thoughts?

I can bring the sandbags but everyone gets to take twenty home with them! I'm still cleaning out the garage, bloody coal dust and muck everywhere

Lesson learned, As I say next time we dole them out to each member to minimise disruption at the Midlands QM depot

Oh dear, sorry to hear that Murph. I see there are two ways around it. Let each member take 20, or get each member to come down and broom out your garage...
