[REF] US Army Vehicle Octane Ratings

I saw Paul's post on the WW2 Forum about obtaining some of the red 80 octane ratings for Jerry Cans, which reminded me of some data. You see no end of people with Jerry Cans mounted on their Jeeps with Octane Rating tags of 80 (in bright red). This is wrong for Jeeps, since they were officially rated as 68 octane, and 80 octane fuel was reserved for heavy and armored vehicles.

Damn!! I just ordered some repro 89 octane tags from ebay!! Good stuuf though Ben-LLoyd has told me that Tony Sudds has some?

Eek, sorry! I am currently looking into getting the correct 68 Rating tags made up, but just need to confirm the colour (I believe it's a variation of purple, perhaps lilac).
