Peak Rail, Aug 2010, 69th Infantry Division

GI44-45 attended Peak Rail, Derbyshire this weekend, and had the chance to pay homage to the 69th Infantry Division, during which we made the most of the chance to get a few photos with the excellent 2nd Guards Russian Living History Group, recreating the link up with East meeting West in 1945.

The weekend gave us a chance to dig in again, get dirty, fire a few rounds through the mortar and test out our new BD71 telephone exchange in preparation for Fort Amherst later this year. All in all a great weekend!

Hi guys was great working with you look forward to doing it again, glad Marks hand is on the mend, if you get chance though you have to try a Russian Banya, i recommend it, great photos only wish i didnt look so glum lol

Hi Murph, that wont happen i found all you guys warm and welcoming, ive done some evnets with groups where they have really cold shouldered you for not beind "one of their group", im going to apply for the Leave for Op Neptune and should i get it ill be in touch with the team to see about getting there, but ill not count chickens till ive got the leave, cheers Dean, hopefully see you on the Beach, and keeping my actions clear......

I hoped to visit you guys last weekend and ask some question on joining the group but I had some other things to do instead.
Some great pics there though with our Russian comrades. for some reason I would never of thought of such a great event to re-enact!
